Near the beginning of Grove Creek
Starting Point: Grove Creek Canyon Trail head
Distance: 8.0 miles round-trip
Elevation Gain: Approx. 2,400 ft.
This route can be done in either direction, but our favorite is to start from the Grove Creek Canyon Trailhead and head south on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail over to Battle Creek and then you will ascend Battle Creek. Going up Battle Creek is a steep climb and has some very rocky, technical sections. Atop Battle creek you will run into the signpost for connecting trails, you head north over toward Grove Creek. Crossing over toward Grove Creek you will cross the famous meadow and then head over to Indian Springs. The descent down Grove Creek is somewhat steep and you have a variety of trail surfaces. As you get into the lower portion of Grove Creek the trail can be treacherous due to the shale rock and cliff edges. This route has some incredible views and has great vert within a short distance.
